THIS IS OUR SUB:CULTURE:
SUB:CULTURE is North Dakota’s premiere electronic music weekly. Developed by DJ Econ, the event began as Thirsty Thursdays at The Pickled Parrot. Over time a unique culture emerged at the events, a group of people devoted to the sounds of electronic music and the culture that goes along with it. Thus, Sub:Culture was born.
The event features resident DJ’s: Econ, Wissota, Jordash, and Dextrious at The Aquarium in Downtown Fargo, ND.
Each week is devoted to a different genre, providing a showcase of genres from across the region including Drum & Bass, Techno, House, and Bass Music.
Minneapolis, MN Audiophile XXL/ House of Vibes/ Trapstyle
Ghost Channels is a producer/DJ out of Minneapolis. After working on his production chops since his formative years of bouncing around styles and groups in Minneapolis, Ghost Channels has locked in on a sound that most would describe as dirty and groovy. Slowly building up a repertoire of dance floor weapons, Ghost Channels cultivates a unique experience in his sets, leaning mostly on his own productions to ensure that he sounds like no other. With a slew of releases on Audiophile XXL, Trapstyle, Basscvlt and many others this year, Ghost Channels shows no sign of slowing down as he continues to churn out House anthems. Supported around the globe from the likes of Ghastly, Aaron Jackson, Jameston Thieves and Dr. Fresch to plays, this is a name that will be sure to get your crowd dancing.
Dextrious fell in love with Djing in 1998 after his friends began taking him to local Fargo dance parties. Once he started mixing his dedication was unwavering. Practicing day and night he soon got booked for his first show after only three months behind the decks. Since then he has been a staple in the Fargo Dj scene.
His resume is extensive and includes being a long time resident DJ at the hub, dominating local Dj battles, performing along side Nelly, Gym Class Heros and T-pain while touring extensively with Jade Presents and winning the HPR’s best bet for “Live Performance Dj” twice while being nominated 7 times. Yet after almost 20 years rocking parties he hasnt lost his dedication or passion for making people dance.
When you come out to subculture you can find him playing everything from dnb and hip hop to house and garage and all with that signature cutting and scratching that make his Dj style all his own.
